The Water For Production Project

About the Project

The primary objective of the Water for Production Project was to enhance household food security and improve the livelihoods of both refugees and host communities in Bidibidi.

This intervention created empowerment, sustainability, and community development; through building upon the achievements and lessons learned from the initial project phase, ensuring a more profound impact on the lives of target beneficiaries.

The eight-months project in the Bidi bidi refugee settlement, was implemented in zone one and five, with funding secured from Samaritan’s Purse International Relief that enhanced:

  1. Increased food production and improved livelihoods for vulnerable refugees and host communities.
  2. Sustained provision of water for production through established mini-irrigation systems.
  3. And Transformation and strengthening of communities and churches, fostering unity and hope.

The project supported farmers with agricultural inputs, empowered them with knowledge and skills in Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), and shared the gospel to achieve its objectives.
