Since 2008, Here Is Life Uganda, with sustained partnership and funding from Tearfund U.K., has spearheaded the Integrated Church and Community Mobilization Project (ICCMP) across northwestern Uganda.
In a region that has absorbed hundreds of thousands of displaced families from South Sudan, local communities face acute challenges: deep psychosocial trauma, communal friction, resource competition, and limited platforms for civic advocacy. The ICCMP initiative directly addresses these challenges by equipping the local church?the most enduring institution in rural Africa?to act as an engine of peace, trauma healing, and community resilience.
A Unified, Inter-Denominational Movement
Lasting peace requires an undivided Body of Christ. A hallmark of the project is its intentional ecumenical unity, bringing together leaders from traditionally separate traditions to learn, pray, and mobilize as one.
